About

MY BACKGROUND

Evan Frawley is an Environmental Geography graduate whose work explores the relationships between people, place, and the built environment. Drawing from GIS, urban and regional planning, cartography, and field-based research, he is interested in how landscapes change over time, how people experience those changes, and how spatial information can be used to better understand and communicate them.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Geography with certificates in Urban and Regional Planning and Geospatial Technologies from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. His work has examined topics including transportation and mobility, environmental change, urban infrastructure, public space, and environmental inequality, often combining spatial analysis, mapping, field observation, and place-based research.

His broader interests include memory, surveillance, preservation, legibility, and the politics of documentation - particularly how places and communities are recorded, represented, and made visible (or disappear) through maps, images, and data. He brings a strong visual and creative sensibility to this work through cartography, photography, writing, and design, with the goal of producing geographic work that is both analytically and academically rigorous.
